Life Matters Journal releases issue #2

The Secular Pro-Life blog is back! Thank you for bearing with us during our hiatus.

Today, we're excited to spotlight the second issue of the Life Matters Journal! (Read about the first issue here.) This issue is entitled "Allies in the Culture War" and features numerous articles that will be of interest to secular pro-lifers, including: a fictional short story about a woman facing an unplanned pregnancy, by Muslim SPL member Angel Armstead (page 47); an essay on the unique religious demographics of the pro-life generation and what they mean for restoring the right to life, by SPL president Kelsey Hazzard (page 22); and commentaries by pro-life Catholics, gays, Quakers, libertarians, and much more.

The entire issue is embedded below. You can also find it at the Life Matters Journal website. To purchase the print version of any issue, go here.

I don't think the issue embedded properly. My screen says "document not found."

Weird, something happened overnight. It should be fixed now.

I checked out the Table of Contents for the current edition. I did not find any article that seemed to on the "unique religious demographics of the pro-life generation". I would be interested in reading this. Which article are you referring to?

I found the article, Kelsey Hazzard's article. And, yes, it says so right in the writeup above - on page 22. Sorry, I guess I need to learn to read!! Great article. Thanks.

I also was impressed with Aimee Bedoy's article, What Drove Them Away. Excellently done! Couldn't have written it better myself.

Thanks for your efforts.

Okay, now for a complaint (if you don't mind). It would be nice if the program that displays the journal could be a little more "user friendly". I am trying to check out some of the references given in Kelsey's article. It is not possible to highlight and copy the very long URLs, nor does it seem to be possible to keep the journal open and open another window/browser tab. I don't know if there is any way to make this work a little easier, but it would be nice if it could be done.

Okay, I solved part of the problem. If you click on "Expand" (on the image of the journal) it opens in full screen mode which doesn't allow you to switch to another tab/window without losing the document. I find that by clicking instead on "Open Publication" (underneath the image) then it opens in a normal window and behaves "well".

By the way, I have referenced Aimee Bedoy's article (and more generally your journal) at my website: http://www.abortionreason.com/blog.php.

I visited the secularprolife.org web page, looking once again for your journal. It was not listed on the Publications page. When the (tele-townhall) link on the Facebook page is gone it doesn't appear that there is a way to find the journal.
