I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend! Here are some stories you may have missed.
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals struck down an Arizona law restricting late-term abortions (after 20 weeks). Americans United for Life explains why the ruling was flawed: the Supreme Court has clearly recognized the legitimate interest in protecting women's health throughout pregnancy, and Arizona presented undisputed evidence that the risks of abortion to the mother skyrocket after 20 weeks.
Meanwhile, some members of Congress are pursuing a nationwide ban on abortions after 20 weeks. Jill Stanek, who testified at the hearing, exposes the duplicity of pro-abortion groups, which praised male Congressmen opposed to the bill, then used a picture of the same Congressmen to suggest that the bill was being pushed by men with no female input! (The women who were present were left out of the photo because they were testifying in favor of the bill. How terribly inconvenient for the propagandists.)
Unfortunately, Maryland authorities are refusing to hold abortionist Leroy Carhart accountable in the death of Jennifer Morbelli. They have, however, cited Carhart for unsanitary conditions at his facility.
Another Maryland abortion chain, Associates in OB/GYN Care, is facing medical license suspension for a range of dangerous practices, including failure to have CPR-trained employees or a working defibrillator.
